Our donors

Our work is made possible through the support of a growing number of donors. We are very grateful for providing us with necessary funds, trust and recognition for our work.

Variety of donors

We aim not to be dependent on just a few important donors in order to reduce the risk of rapid changes in budget if one falls away. Therefore, we are funded by national governments, international bodies and conventions and other NGOs. Furthermore, in the Netherlands our headquarters has a hosting agreement with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation.

Responsibility to the donors

We take our responsibility seriously towards our donors, as well as we do towards our beneficiaries and the environment. For more details, such as the financial report we annually publish our Annual Review

How to become a donor

If you are interested in making a donation to our organisation you can choose either to support one specific action or the organisation as a whole. For more information how become a donor, contact Kate Pearson, Resource Development Officer of Wetlands International.

List of donors of Wetlands International

From the long list of projects over the past two decades implemented by all our 20 offices throughout the world comes an equally long list of donors. Therefore, we cannot mention all and will focus on the donors from the past year, coming from the Annual Review 2009 as published by Wetlands International in June 2010.

The donors are separated into three categories: intergovernmental organisations; governments; and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) together with research (and other) institutes.
