Analysis of trends of selected waterbird populations in the African-Eurasian Waterbird Agreement Area
Background:
The AEWA Conservation Status Report summarises the available knowledge about the size and trends of migratory waterbird populations listed in Table 1 of the AEWA Action Plan. It provides the basis for updating Table 1 and, in turn, determines the conservation and management measures required from the Contracting Parties outlined in the AEWA Action Plan.
The AEWA Conservation Status Report builds strongly on the information collected through the International Waterbrid Census in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The 5th edition of the report was presented at the AEWA MoP and can be accessed from the AEWA website - click here to download the report.
On this page we provide additional background information on the report, including detailed information on the trend analsysis for CSR5, an explnation of the methodology used and charts of trends for all populations analysed. The charts show the numbers counted, the total with imputed values, the upper confidence limits for each year and the linear trend for the totals. Populations can be selected in the drop down menu in the top left corner. You will need to allow macros to show the graphs with correct formating.
