Chair, Wetlands International


March 25, 2011. Wetlands International is seeking a new Chair. The Chair leads the Supervisory Council, which oversees the work of the Management Board (CEO and COO), providing advice and ensuring effective management. This is an honorary position with costs reimbursed.

The Chair will have experience from a range of senior level functions, ideally including an internationally operating organisation. S/he will have a passion and commitment to the values and long term goals of Wetlands International and active networks with a wide range of stakeholders relevant to its work. S/he will have excellent team leadership and political skills and be willing to engage regularly with the Management Board based in the Netherlands.

Wetlands International is an independent, not-for-profit, global organisation that works through a network of 20 offices worldwide, with its’ headquarters in the Netherlands. The mission is to sustain and restore wetlands, their resources and biodiversity. The current programmes of work build knowledge, address policies and facilitate community-based action for wetlands in relation to local livelihoods, biodiversity, water resources and climate change.
