Asian Waterbird Census and Asia-Pacific Migratory Waterbird Conservation Strategy

Hilary Chiew explores the world of waterbirds and wetlands and waterbird monitoring through the Asian Waterbird Census (AWC) and the latest outcomes as reported in a new regional report (1997-2001).

The relationship between the AWC and the Asia-Pacific Migratory Waterbird Conservation Strategy, an international conservation initiative to promote migratory waterbirds and wetlands is also explained.
