On the 22nd of March 2004 Wetlands International-China has been given a great opportunity to give a presentation at the Dutch Embassy in Beijing during a high-level visit from the Netherlands. Delegate officials from the Dutch Ministery of Agriculture (LNV) included Secretary General Chris Kalden (former president of Wetlands International), Hans Hoogeveen, Director International Affairs, Ton van Arnhem, Division Chief International Phytosanitary Affairs, Marie-Josee Jenniskens, Head Bilateral Trade Policy and Charlotte Eijsbouts, Policy Officer Global Affairs. Also attending the presentation were Pieter Gooren, Counsellor to LNV, Rubert Konijn, LNV attaché of the Dutch Embassy in Beijing and Zhang Xiaohong, Deputy Director of WI-China. During the presentation Chen Kelin, director of WI-China gave an overview of the activities undertaken by WI-China and Anna van Paddenburg, Junior Expert funded by DGIS (Dutch government) to support WI-China, outlined her main duties as a Wetlands Project Development Officer for China and Mongolia. The Dutch Secretary General Chris Kalden was very pleased to see the enthusiasm of WI-China staff.
