On Wednesday 26 March Wetlands International attended the informal farewell reception for Douglas Hykle, Dep. Executive Secretary of the Bonn Convention, who takes up a post at the UNEP office in Bangkok. The reception took place in the UN Premises in Bonn Germany. Dr. Gerard C. Boere spoke on behalf of Wetlands International and referred to the long and intensive co-operation since 1991. To illustrate this once more, the new Joint Work Program between UNEP/CMS, UNEP/AEWA and Wetlands International was signed during the reception; Douglas Hykle was closely involved in its development. Wetlands International wishes Douglas Hykle a successful continuation of his work for UNEP/CMS at his new post.
