Wetlands International is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Nash as our new International Director, with effect from 1st September 2000. Mr. Nash replaces the previous International Director, Robin Schaap, who will continue to work with us as a valued associate. Simon Nash is moving from his role as Head of Operations of Wetlands International - Africa, Europe, Middle East. For the time being he will continue his role as Director of Wetlands International - Americas. Simon joined Wetlands International in 1987, as a staff member of one of our three founding organisations, the International Waterfowl and Wetlands Research Bureau. As International Director, based in the International Co-ordination Unit, Simon will join Evert Rougoor, Nicolette Petri and Doug Taylor, whose work has now also been strengthened by the secondment of dr. Gerard C. Boere from the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Management and Fisheries. Simon Nash is committed to further strengthening the work of Wetlands International through its partnership network, and looks forward to building upon our relationship with Conventions, participating countries and the many friends and expert colleagues who assist us in our mission.
