Medals for Excellence awarded!

The Luc Hoffmann Medal has been awarded to Prof.dr. Anthony (Tony) D. Fox and Prof. Richard Kingsford. Both are awarded this Medal for excellence in wetland research and for outstanding communications, team work and collaboration worldwide for the active promotion of wetland conservation and wise use.
 

The other nominees for the Luc Hoffmann Medal were Geoffrey (Geoff) Howard, Vhangani Silima, Wolfgang Junk and Gerard Boere, last of which achieved an award of High Commendation for his work on wetlands and waterbird conservation and support for Wetlands International.

The President's Medal for Staff Excellence goes to Alue Dohong, head of Wetlands International's Central Kalimantan project office. Alue Dohong has been key to the Central Kalimantan Peatlands project, which has rapidly gained international attention and acclaim.

The other nominees for the Medal for Staff Excellence were Mary Cissé from Wetlands International's Senegal office, Meena Kumari from the India office, and Flora George from the Malaysia office. All three achieved the Highy Commended award for their long term support to their colleagues.
