Various pilot projects on the AWI are being initiated at the national and site level. Upadates on these initiatives are available under the national progress sections.

The Hokkaido pilot project that is being coordinated by Wetalands International Japan is the pioneer. Results of the first phase of this project are available online. It involved a collation of existing information and translating it into the AWI format. There may be some discrepencies in the data fields shown compared to the manual due to the fact that the Hokkaido pilot project was initiated prior to the manual being finalised. Nevertheless, it is a good case study. More detailed information on the Hokkaido case study will be made available soon.
