La Intención Estratégica 2011-2020 es una versión revisada de la perspectiva a diez años de Wetlands International y sustituye a la Intención Estratégica 2005-2014 como la estrategia general de toda la organización. Se basó en amplias consultas a nivel interno y externo emprendidas desde 2009, incluyendo evaluaciones de logros pasados y lecciones aprendidas, así como evaluaciones de los desafíos y oportunidades internas y externas a la organización.
