Analyses of Mute Swans in Europe and H5N1

Mute swans were victim of the 2005 - 2006 outbreaks of Avian Infuenza, H5N1 in Europe.


Description:

The outbreaks started around the Caspian and Black Sea. In late summer there were outbreaks of H5N1 in Croatia and Romania. In February 2006, infected dead swans were found in Southern Italy, Greece and Bulgarija, followed by Slovenia, Austria and possibly Germany. This is a report on concerns and evalute future risk to the Mute Swans.
