Wetland School Network
The Wetlands School Network (WSN) unites schools from five different countries in Asia on education on wetlands, their services and importance. Special attention is paid to the East Asian and Southeast Asian region through the demonstration and sustainable development of the WSN in the five nations of China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea and Thailand.

From 2005 to 2007, Wetlands International China (WIC) started with the “Wetland Awareness Campaign for Children and Teachers in Three Nations; Japan-China-Korea”. Building on its succes was the successor “Wetland School Network Programme Popularised in Asian Countries along the East Asian-Australasian Waterbird Flyway" from 2008 to 2010.
In the latter, children from Thailand and Malaysia joined the activities to bring the total of participating countries to five. Activities included wetland-themed environmental education projects and international exchanges.
The total 6-year-project was supported by funding from the Japan Fund for Global Environment (JFGE).
Wetlands International Japan served as the national liaison in the application for and consequent management of JFGE funding.
