We raised awareness of the local community on the conservation of mangrove forest and also encouraged their involvement in rehabilitating and monitoring the mangrove. It dd so by strengthening the capacity of the communities to rehabilitate and monitor the mangroves and to implement techniques for sustainable use.

Sungai Seria and its surrounding wetlands have repeatedly been recognized as an area of potential high environmental and biodiversity value. The screening should allow BSP to make a proper assessment of the Biodiversity Action Plan requirements for this area and is intended as a first step in a more elaborate assessment plan.
