The Ebro Delta is the largest wetland in Catalonia and one of the most important wetland areas in Spain, with parts protected as a Ramsar Site, Important Bird Area, National Park and as part of the Natura 2000 network of the European Union.

This report summarises the 2012 winter counts, which covered the plain of the delta as well as the adjoining coastal sea. Detailed analyses of the results are provided in Catalan, including species or family overviews and contextual analysis of, for example, meteorological conditions and the impact of drying rice fields. Spanish and English summaries are also included, whilst Latin names for species and families are also given throughout, making the tables and charts easy to understand.

The report is available from the Generalitat de Catalunya website: http://www20.gencat.cat/docs/parcsnaturals/Home/Delta%20de%20lEbre/Coneix-nos/Centre%20de%20documentacio/Fons%20documental/Publicacions/Llibres/Documents%20tecnics%20del%20Parc/Cens%20hivernal%202012/Publisher%20cens%20hiv%202012.pdf
