We are attending the Planetary Security Conference to stress on how wetland resources are connected to human security. One of the thematic focuses of the conference is ‘Contribution of land and climate policies to peace’ and evidence will be discussed from different parts of the world including Mali. We will be contributing to these discussions through our experience in Mali.

Event Summary: This workshop will spotlight the water and conflict risks in Mali, focusing particularly on the Inner Niger Delta. These risks will be discussed with water and security experts from Mali and with insights gained by Wetlands International and International Alert working in the region. The aims of this workshop are-
• Build an understanding of the complex water and security risks in Mali and the entire region
• Familiarise the PSI participants with scenario building and how it can be used to encourage foresight collaboration and solution-seeking.
