The census in Bulgaria is coordinated nationally by Mr. Valeri Georgiev from the Biodiversity Division of the National Nature Protection Service Directorate under the Ministry of Environment and Water. Several organisations are active partners in organising and conducting the counts in Bulgaria, including the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB, contact Nicky Petkov nicky.petkov @ bspb.org), Balkani Wildlife Society, “Green Balkans” Federation, Fund for Wild Flora and Fauna, Bulgarian Union of Hunters and Anglers and Nature Park Persina.
