Climate Change Advocacy Officer

As Climate Change Advocacy Officer, I lead the design and implementation of Wetlands International climate advocacy strategy, in order to raise awareness and increase support for the consideration of wetlands as key ecosystems for mitigating and adapting to climate change. I lead our engagement in climate policy and act as focal point to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the NDC Partnership. Key tasks in my job include the development of strategies for the inclusion of wetlands in the countries’ climate strategies (NDCs) and support for the development of responsible corporate climate action and climate finance, together with colleagues throughout Wetlands International network, technical experts and partners.

I have more than 15 years’ experience working on sustainable development issues at the international level, from different perspectives (government, international organization, research and NGO). My experience includes policy development and negotiation (environmental diplomacy), project implementation, advocacy, and research, on environmental, climate change, developmental and agricultural issues. I hold a PhD in Climate Change, Agriculture and Forest International Policies and Governance, combined with an Master of Arts in Development Studies specialized in environment and sustainable development and an MBA in International Marketing.
