As Technical Officer, I support the Project Team with the development, implementation and communications of projects and programmes within the Wetlands International portfolio. Wetlands International allows me to contribute to the empowerment of communities to take local action, which adds up to a global difference.
Beautiful things happen when things come together – like water and land creating wetlands, or different stakeholders creating a conservation strategy. I am passionate about bringing together knowledge, policy and practice, in order to (re)connect people and nature, and to safeguard and restore the world’s wetlands.
Before Wetlands International I carried out conservation work in the tropics with various NGOs, including WWF. During my studies I specialised in (marine) ecology (BSc) and ecosystem services and biodiversity (MSc), combined with policy and economics courses, in order to understand the opportunities and challenges within environmental conservation and sustainable development.
