As a member of the Knowledge, Innovation and Learning team, I work on improving our knowledge base on wetlands through a number of projects ranging from counting birds on the ground to mapping wetland landscapes using remote sensing techniques.
Growing up in Africa, most of my holidays were spent near wetlands, either enjoying their wildlife or swimming in their waters. I value wetlands for their intrinsic beauty and the services they provide, as well as for their fragile balance, which humans can easily upset.
