Wim Giesen works at Euroconsult Mott MacDonald (70% of his time) and in addition, does some freelance work on interesting projects (30%). Currently (2018), his work for EMM is predominantly in Indonesia and on peatlands and paludiculture and sustainable lowland development, while his freelance work is on paludiculture in Indonesia (for FAO), seagrass restoration in Zeeland Province, the Netherlands (for Radboud University and the Dutch Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management/Rijkswaterstaat), and Southeast Asian peat swamp forests (for enjoyment).
