The world’s biggest climate event of its kind is back in the City of New York, from September 21-28. For those attending the New York Climate Week, we invite you to an event organised by the Mangrove Breakthrough and the Global Mangrove Alliance, which will highlight the progress and momentum of the Mangrove Breakthrough ahead of COP30.

Public session: Turning Collaboration into Impact: The Mangrove Breakthrough Implementation Agenda

The event will feature:

  • Updates on Mangrove Breakthrough’s progress and how it is building political, financial, and technical momentum for COP30.
  • The launch of the Global Mangrove Alliance’s (GMA) Regional Readiness Reports, which provide regional pathways to coordinate mangrove action and financing, along with Country Propositions, mobilizing the Mangrove Breakthrough.
  • A multi-stakeholder panel discussion showcasing examples of mangrove action implementation,  featuring government leaders, financial institutions, private sector, and local communities.

The event will feature a diverse line-up of experts from across the climate, finance, and conservation fields. Among them, Wetlands International, will introduce the Regional Readiness Reports for Asia, Americas and West Africa, concise high-level resources that map where and how capital, policy, and partnerships can be deployed now to accelerate immediate mangrove action in these critical regions.
